The duties of the successful candidates will include:

  • Providing a high standard of direct nursing, companionship and personalised care to residents;
  • Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to residents according to individual needs;
  • Operating equipment and ordering and administering medication;
  • Liaising with GPs, chiropodist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and other members of the wider care team;
  • Supervising the care staff to ensure that a high standard of care is provided at all times, especially in the absence of the duty manager or head of the floor;
  • Ensuring all nursing practices are of a high standard and works within the primary nurse setting, in line with the Patient Charter of Rights, and under the Nursing Home Minimum Standards;
  • Implementing NMC code of conduct, scope of practice and home’s policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria

  • RGN/RMN Qualification
  • NMC Registration
  • Current PREPP, Primary Nursing, Care Planning and The Patients Charter
  • Dealing with problems associated with the elderly
  • Ability to work set hours, flexible to meet the needs of the organization
  • Good General Health (medically fit)
  • Must have a good command of written and spoken English and permission to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable Criteria

  • 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Nursing of the Elderly in a Nursing Home Setting
  • Management skills needed for a care team
