Heron Hill Care Home, situated in the historic town of Kendal and close to local transport links is a purpose-built facility providing expert nursing, dementia, residential dementia, palliative, and respite care. The home accommodates up to 86 residents in single occupancy rooms, each with ensuite facilities.

The home also supports a specialised 20-bed male-only unit designed for residents with complex dementia needs, by our award-winning staff team, who have been recognised formally through external recognition through the National Care Awards year on year.

Meet the manager

I started my career in the care sector in 1992 as a carer in a nursing home and through study I worked her way up to her current position of Registered Home Manager. Along the way I have studied to gain the knowledge required to become a good home manager, NVQ level 4 qualification in Health and Social care and Management, along with the Registered Managers level 4 award, which has enabled me to work both in residential and nursing homes for the elderly. I am passionate about promoting a high quality of care for both her residents, their families and her team. Nicola supports her team to achieve this through training, supervision and guidance. Nicola encourages open and honest discussions with her residents and their families to help her and her team to perform the best they can.
