Dementia Care

Abbey Healthcare has a choice of care homes that can provide 24/7 tailored residential and nursing care for people living with dementia.

Our teams are specifically trained and experienced in caring for people with dementia

When your loved one has been diagnosed with dementia, fear of the unknown can set in. Some things may change and become more of a challenge and the fear of them not “knowing me” can be an emotional journey for all of the family.

Abbey Healthcare has a choice of care homes that can provide 24/7 residential and nursing care including those living with dementia care and other specific conditions.

Our trained staff look past the person’s perceived limitations, we want to KNOW the real person and focus on enhancing their lives by making every day meaningful through all the things that they love.

With our person-centred care plan approach, each individually tailored to identify, reassure and support your loved ones needs, helping to retain their identity, independence, wellbeing and self-worth.

We provide an array of activities delivered by our trained wellbeing staff to nourish the minds and body from gentle exercise, day trips and one to one social and creative sessions.

Our care staff always take the time to get to know your loved ones by listening to their stories and understand their preferences, building relationships and sharing moments so they never feel alone or misunderstood.

Our chefs also work tirelessly to meet all the nutritional needs of our residents ensuring that dietary requirements are met, and choices provided.

At Abbey Healthcare we may not always have the answers especially for those suffering with dementia but working with you and our passion to deliver compassionate care we strive to ensure that your loved ones can live a fulfilling happy life in a place they can call their home.

“I am extremely grateful to Applecroft and all the staff who helped my father in the last six months of his life. He suffered from Alzheimer’s and we struggled to find him a good home. My main goal was to make sure he was safe, happy and when the time came he experienced a ‘good’ death. The staff were caring, friendly, professional and tactile. The atmosphere of the home always felt calm and they had made it as homely as they could.”
