Huntingdon: Abbey Healthcare’s Primrose Hill Care Home walk

Four staff from Abbey Healthcare’s Primrose Hill Care Home strode out in their walking boots on one of the hottest days of the year to raise money for two therapy dolls for their residents with dementia.

Complete with cribs, pushchairs, bottles, and nappies the baby boy and girl dolls are now being enjoyed by residents on the 16-bed dementia floor.

Danielle Keeble, dementia unit manager at the newly-refurbished home on Thames Road, said: “It’s well documented that sensory activities and therapeutic treatments like dolls can help people with dementia, especially if they’ve been parents in the past.

“The ‘caring’ role empowers them to find comfort in those memories of caring for a baby, so we wanted to raise money and buy our own pair.”

Hooray we shout! Already for the Coronation Parade and Picnic

Our Heron Hill Care Home all ready with their flags a waving high and excitement building as they join Heron Hill Primary Schools KS2 for their Coronation parade and picnic!

It’s going to be a posh affair at our Aaron Court Care home with a true celebration in style. Residents, families and friends in posh attire in readiness for a beautiful 3 course luncheon. Chink chink everyone

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it, you’ll be the grandest lady, in the Easter parade!

With bonnets galore our Aaron Court Residents had a great time showing off their creations. They truly will be the grandest ladies in the Easter Parade!

From the jitterbug swing to the harlem shuffle, celebrating music day with our Rawyards residents just got those feet a tappin. Will twist the day away with our dancin feet.

PJ’S for Alzheimers!

Abbeydale Court going the extra mile or should I say extra bed! An amazing day with staff, residents, families and friends, including including a visit from the children at Westpark Nursery School, all in the aid of raising funds an awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society. Fantastic job by all! is it bedtime yet?

We are never too old for flipping!

Our residents at Cromwell House love the fun of pancake day and not just the making and eating of them! They passed on good advice to our chefs and apparently its all about the right mix and consistency, not to think and not too runny just right for the perfect pancake flip.
